I’m bored!
What are we going to do??
These words create a sense of dread in me. Even though we know we all have work to do, whether it’s school work or “work” work, we all need some type of diversion. I am guilty of checking email or social media and within a few minutes I feel uninspired. Not because I don’t appreciate what I am seeing and reading but maybe, it’s because most of the information I am seeing is not what I am looking for. I want something fun, creative and inspiring. And frankly, a break from seeing people hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer. I have realized that I need to create what I am looking for myself.
I’m guessing that when our kids come to us saying “I’m bored” that they are looking for the same thing. Something different to get them inspired. But, they need some coaching and support around this. Now is the time to think about what fun, creative things we can do that we have wanted to do but we have put off. Or, perhaps there is something new that you’d like to try. Brainstorm some ideas and then schedule these fun things into your daily routine so that you actually do them and fit in that break everyone needs.
Tip #3 Get Creative!!
You may be thinking “hey, I’m not really a creative person so I don’t really know what to do” well, here are some things to consider. Some of these can be done solo or as a group. You can google all of these and also find YouTube videos for additional ideas, resources and support.
